Monarch Driving Academy School Policy

1. Registration and Enrollment

All students are required to complete the registration process, which includes agreeing to our school’s policy via our online sign up, providing accurate licensing and payment of fees. The cost of individual lessons and lesson packages are set out at www.monarchdrivingacademy.com and are subject to change.

2. Payment

All driving lessons must be prepaid in full at the time of registering. Payment plans can be arranged for lesson packages at the request of students. Interac e-transfer is the preferred payment method. Cash and personal cheques are also accepted but payment must be cleared before the start of the lesson. Credit cards and bank cards are not accepted.

Packages must be used within 1 year of the time of payment. After this period, the package will expire and the remaining lessons will be cancelled and no refund will be issued.

3. Lesson Scheduling

Lessons are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage students to schedule lessons in advance to ensure availability. Students may request a specific instructor, but instructor assignments are subject to availability.

4. Driving Lessons

Lessons will be conducted in dual control vehicles. Extra mirrors and markers are installed on the vehicles to help students learn various driving and parking maneuvers. Additionally, we provide complimentary pick up and drop off within the regions we operate.

All lessons will include a 5 minute review session of material previously taught, and a 5 minute feedback session at the end of the lesson.

5. Road Test Vehicle Rental Package

School vehicles are available for Class 5/7 road tests. Package includes registration for ICBC’s Class 5/7 road test and a 45 minute warm up session prior to the test. Students are responsible for ICBC’s road test fee.

6. Lesson Cancellation, Rescheduling and Refunds

To cancel or reschedule a lesson, students must provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours in advance will be considered late cancellations. Late cancellations will be subject to a fee of $60. Same day cancellations will be charged the full amount of the lesson.

Refunds are available. The tuition of lessons already provided plus a processing fee of $60 will be deducted, and the balance will be refunded.

7. Late Arrival and No-Show Policy

Students are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled lessons. Late arrivals may result in shortened lesson duration. If a student arrives more than 30 minutes late without prior notice, the lesson may be considered canceled.

If a student fails to show up for a scheduled lesson without providing prior notice, it will be considered a no-show. No-shows will be charged the full cost of the missed lesson.

8. Vehicle Maintenance and Damage

Students are responsible for treating the training vehicles with care and reporting any damage or malfunctions immediately.  In the event of a car crash while the student is operating the vehicle, the student will be responsible to go through ICBC’s fault assessment procedures. ICBC’s insurance deductible or a quote for the repairs from an ICBC certified repair shop will be charged back to the student if repairs are necessary. Our instructors will do our utmost to prevent accidents from happening.
